On Monday, February 18th 2008 15 alumni met together with Mikheil Benidze, FLEX ’06, and gathered in the Alumni Resource Center to get a deeper understanding of the Global Youth Service Day joint grant project offered through the American Councils office. Mikheil talked about the role of GYSD not only in alumni community, but also for youth in general. Mikheil brought examples from his experience while organizing a GYSD joint grants proposal. He specifically explained the role and the goal of GYSD and also deepened alumnis’ understanding of its importance for today’s youth throughout Eurasia. The Alumni had a chance to ask questions concerning the application forms and process. At the end, the alumni came up with a number of interesting projects for this year’s Global Youth Service Day.
